Contact me if you would like storytelling at an event, festival, party or school/nursery

I first came to storytelling through my Steiner teacher training, as oral storytelling is a big part of this approach to education, especially in the early years.  I trained at the International School of Storytelling, based at Emmerson College and I am also currently part of a year long training course with Chris Holland called Storytelling for Outdoor Learning.

I tell traditional stories from around the world. My special interest are stories that connect children to nature and explore our relationship with the natural world. During 2017 I have been taking the Talking Trees story project to events and schools, as part of my work as a Charter Champion, celebrating trees and raising awareness of the Woodland Trust's Charter for Trees

I believe Storytelling to be a powerful way to teach children. It fully engages their whole being and speaks to their hearts and minds. It exposes them to creative vocabulary and stimulates and encourages the development of their imagination. For younger children it is a safe way to explore the world and very nurturing. It is an entertaining and fun way to learn.

I am available to tell stories at events and gatherings, in schools and for parties. Please get in touch to discuss your needs.

" We loved your beautiful stories about Mikku and the brave little girl who stopped her favourite tree from being cut down. The children were fully engaged, due to your energy and enthusiasm and the powerful message came across loud and clear."

Julie Dunn year 5 teacher, Parkdale Junior school. Nottingham

"Thanks so much for the event yesterday. It was a triumph"

Pippa, No28. Tales of Woollen Woods at Belper Art Festival. May 2017

“ Lauren was amazing.  She held the attention of an entire class and engaged them in the story to enhance comprehension.  The Year One’s and Reception class were so enthralled by her puppets…she made the stories come alive.  It was a joy to see how they reacted to live story telling”

Dawn Claypole, Chief Executive Literacy Volunteers

"It was lovely to see the children so engaged. You are a fab educator and are obviously very passionate about what you do"
