Forest school adventure sessions at Iona school

Starting in June I will be piloting after school forest school adventure sessions at Iona school in Sneinton, open to all local children. I will be working together with Raquel Ezcurra-Zarraluqui a teacher and learning support worker at Iona school. This development follows my being given permission to hire the land at the back of Iona school for use in my outdoor work. I did a placement at Iona school during my Steiner teacher training and I am delighted to be given the opportunity to make links with the school again. The land is perfect for this work. There is a fire pit and covered areas if it rains; compost toilets, open areas and trees. We will be including all the classic elements of Forest schools; fire skills, shelter making, natural crafts, whittling, bows and arrows and wild cooking. If it proves to be a success we hope to offer more sessions in the Autumn. Please get in touch if you would like more details of how to book a place.
